Józef Ignacy Kraszewski's "Saxony Trilogy" was made into a film 40 years ago. "Saxony's Splendour and Prussia's Glory" was the largest and most elaborate film production in the GDR. How were they created? How did the Polish writer view and judge Augustus the Strong and the Saxon-Polish court? And what was life like at the Polish court, which the Wettins ruled from 1697 to 1763?

The exhibition is under the patronage of Dr Christine Gräfin von Brühl.

Forty years ago, J. I. Kraszewski's Saxony trilogy was made into a film. Saxony's Splendour and Prussia's Glory" was the largest film production of the GDR - a work that impressively intertwined history, politics and personal destinies. The exhibition sheds light on the background to this lavish film adaptation and invites visitors to take a closer look at Kraszewski's literary works.
